About me


I have 11 years of experience as a staff translator and interpreter. I worked at the UK Ministry of Defence for 10 years and then for 1 year at the International Criminal Court in The Hague (Netherlands). Since July 2007 I have been working as a freelance translator and interpreter.

As a freelance I have worked for a number of translation agencies, both in the UK and in Europe. I have also worked as a contractor for the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia. My work has included lengthy, time-sensitive and confidential assignments requiring a high degree of accuracy and excellent research and time-management skills.

I have an MA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Bradford (French and German). I have also been a full member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) since 1999 and have been examined by the Institute for translation from French to English.

My specialist areas are: defence, military, journalism, technical, legal and business and commerce.

I have full professional indemnity insurance and I am committed to regular Continuous Professional Development to ensure that my skills are kept up to date.
